The Canadian Geothermal Industry Alliance (CGIA) is an advisory body under Geothermal Canada, bringing together experts from geothermal companies, service providers, and suppliers.
By working to create a supportive regulatory and financial environment that advances geothermal development and aligns with provincial and federal energy and climate goals, we are supporting the sustainable growth of geothermal energy development in Canada.

KEY OBJECTIVES include advocating for a distinct royalty and regulatory framework tailored to geothermal energy, increasing government funding and awareness, and promoting collaboration within the industry.
The group provides a platform for unified advocacy, knowledge sharing, and technical collaboration.

MEMBERSHIP is open to organizations within the geothermal sector that commit to active participation, ethical conduct, and the broader mission of advancing geothermal adoption—not personal or commercial gain.
Members are expected to contribute through volunteer roles and regular engagement.

CGIA operates by consensus and will be governed by an elected steering committee. It will maintain transparency in its meetings, finances, and communications.
Through structured advocacy, strategic partnerships, and collective expertise, CGIA aims to shape the future of geothermal energy policy and development in Canada.
The charter is effective upon ratification by founding members and is subject to majority amendment.
